The Iowa Waste Reduction Center is very excited to announce a new certification program geared towards Iowa craft breweries - Iowa Green Brewery Certification.

Through the program, IWRC staff will work with Iowa craft breweries to receive free technical assistance, hands-on guidance and certification to benchmark their environmental and sustainability efforts. IWRC has been working with several craft breweries as well as the Iowa Brewers Guild to develop a hands-on certification process that begins with an on-site sustainability and environmental audit. Breweries are then evaluated on their energy efficiency, water conservation, waste generation/diversion and overall environmental management and then are awarded a certification level of bronze, silver, or gold.

The program will officially launch at the November 5 i-BEST event being held at Peacetree Brewing Company in Knoxville, IA.
