The University of Northern Iowa has signed an agreement with Canescens BV out of the Netherlands to be the sole distributor of the university developed VirtualPaint simulator throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Developed by the Iowa Waste Reduction Center atVirtualPaint in 2005, the VirtualPaint is a virtual reality simulator used to train spray painters in a variety of industries.  Training with the VirtualPaint has shown to significantly increase the overall efficiency of a painting and coating operation by allowing users to view and interact with real spray equipment while simulating the actual application on to a virtual surface.

The VirtualPaint has been commercialized in the United States for the last seven years and this agreement is the first exclusive distributorship for this technology in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
