Joe Bolick
Director
My journey with IWRC began as a student intern, and over the past 20 years I’ve had the privilege of helping shape the organization’s growth and services. Now, as Director, I lead a team of passionate professionals, overseeing the day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and strategic partnerships with organizations across the state and country.
Throughout my time at the IWRC, I’ve contributed to several key initiatives, including the development of several of our Painter Training courses, two patented Virtual Reality training systems, and the Iowa Green Brewery Certification (IGBC) program. Beyond the IWRC, I stay actively involved in sustainability efforts through the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, Iowa Recycling Association, and Iowa Society of Solid Waste Operations, working to make a lasting environmental impact.
I strive to practice the same principles I promote by supporting small businesses, seeking out locally sourced food, art, craft beer and spending as much time outdoors as possible, whether I’m hiking, golfing, or kayaking.
I’m incredibly proud to be part of an organization filled with environmental experts who see no limits to the IWRC’s potential and work to create meaningful change on a national level.
