Mark Harrington

Senior Research Technician

With over 20 years of experience as a painting technician at Camp Dodge, I apply my expertise in my role as STAR4D’s Senior Research Technician by training painters in military and industrial coating operations. I work closely with military personnel to ensure they are up to date on best practices and that coatings are applied properly for maximum durability and safety.

Behind the scenes, I collect, organize, and analyze applied research data, establish and maintain safety procedures, deliver classroom presentations, and help contribute wherever I am needed to support the development of the STAR4D curriculum. I am also an active member of the Chemical Coaters Association, which keeps me connected with industry peers and informed on the latest coating technology.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is traveling to military sites, where I get to build relationships with the troops and pay my experience forward.

Drawing on my background in automotive and industrial painting, along with specialized knowledge in CARC military painting applications, I am proud to support the IWRC’s mission to reduce air emissions and hazardous waste while improving efficiency and quality.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my family, exploring new places together whenever we can.
